Katrina is the name of success
Remember the sexy model in Kaizad Gustad’s super-dud ‘Boom’? The writer-turned-film maker first saw Katrina Kaif in a fashion show and introduced her in first debut film, along with Padma Lakshmi and Madhu Sapre opposite Amitabh Bachchan. Boom crashed on the box office and so were the dreams of the other two models. But Katrina Kaif was there not just to vanish away.
The daughter of Kashmiri Muslim, Mohammed Kaif and a British Christian mother, Suzzane, Katrina was born in Hong Kong but shifted to London after her parents broke up. She was noticed by an ad-maker at the age of 14 and she started her career in modeling. Her first assignment was for a jewelry company. Being one of the seven siblings, Katrina Kaif saw real poverty in life. And that was why she had to take the responsibility of her family at a nascent age.
In the year of 2003, when Boom was released and collapsed at the box office, Katrina shifted to Mumbai in order to establish a strong foot-hold in the modeling world in India. Probably, she knew that she would never ever be able to enter in Bollywood, because she could not speak Hindi. And just as Katrina thought, she turned out to be a supermodel in India.
Probably Katrina herself would not know what was waiting for her in the magical city. In the year of 2005, eminent filmmaker Ramgopal Varma re-introduced Katrina in a brief role as in Abhishek Bachchan’s girlfriend in ‘Sarkar’. In the same year, Katrina met with heart-broken Salman Khan and became his ladylove. It was Salman Khan, who introduced her to all the notable directors in the tinsel town and also cast her in his brother, Sohail Khan’s film, ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’. It was the first film, which gave Katrina her first full length role.
And the rest is history. Apart from blockbluster hits like ‘Singh Is Kingg’, ‘Namaste London’, ‘Race’, ‘Welcome’, ‘Partner’ and the latest ‘New York’, she manages to establish herself as an actress in the tinsel town. In her entire career so far, she has been the lady-luck for every producer and directors, except for Subhash Ghai, who made the superdud ‘Yuvvraj’ last year. In the recent year, she has bagged such prestigious awards like most searcher woman on the internet, the newest Barbie face or the sexiest Asian woman.
Some say that she owe her stardom to her beau and that is probably why she is still with Salman Khan in spite of his consistent misbehavior with her, while some say that her Jodi with Akshay Kumar led to the turning point in her career. The pleaders of the latter even say that ‘Chandi Chawk To China’ and ‘8x10’ flopped only because Akshay Kumar broke his pair with Katrina in these flicks. Whatever the reason may be, it is the supreme truth that Katrina Kaif is the reigning queen of Bollywood, what if she does not speak Hindi, what if she does not know how to act…..
